Airplay Band of The Month - Mindead

Our final Radio Airplay band for 2012 hails from Stuttgard, Germany. They're at the forefront of modern metal, and ravage the scene with their drum-heavy sound & screaming vocals. They've just released a new video for their latest single (watch it below) and they're gearing up for a large 2013 tour. We present to you, Mindead

Describe Mindead's sound in one sentence.
What we do is under the big banner "Modern Metal." We love big-ass drums and heavy guitars with sometimes screaming, mostly melodic vocals!

When was Mindead formed and where?
Mindead was formed in 2003 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Name three people who have influenced your music, and tell us why? Living or dead.
Chino Moreno (Deftones) for always creating that certain atmosphere with his vocals. Björn Gelotte (In Flames) for making guitars speak like some kind of a voice or something. Joey Jordison (Slipknot) for his unique way of creating and hitting drums.

How do you connect with fans and get them involved in your music?
We are always doing the best we can to connect with our fans, no matter if it is during or after a show, or on social media websites. We think it is very important to interact with fans 'cause without them we wouldn't be where we are, and we wouldn't be able to do what we love the most - playing and living music!

What do you like the most about Jango Airplay?
Jango is an amazing concept and one of the best ways to reach people from all over the world
in a modernized/traditional way - the radio!

Is there any recent project you'd like to share? Tell us about it.
We just released a video for the song "Dark Places"! The song is from our first record called "Abandon All Hope" which came out 4 years ago. We had such good reactions to the song over the years, we thought before we release the new record in early 2013 we should round it up with a video. Please watch and share it all over the planet!


Are you guys playing live? Do you have any shows coming up soon?
Yes of course, we love to play live and feel the energy between the crowd and us! We had a blast last year on the European tour with our brothers from Ill Nino, but right now we are recording and producing our new record that will come out soon, so we don't have much time to play live. 2013 will be full of Mindead shows though! Just like our Facebook page and we will keep you updated.
